AI applications created with Dell’s pre-converted AI models and/or the Dell agent framework can be run on-device on select Dell AI PCs running any version of Microsoft Windows 11 Pro or higher. The AI model used in the app will determine the silicon requirements. AI models designed to run on NPUs 40 TOPs or greater. Select models can also be run on NVIDIA RTX Pro Blackwell and Ada GPUs, beginning at 2000+. The devices will also need to be running .NET Desktop Runtime 8 and ASP.NET Core Runtime 8.x.

Dell accelerates the development cycle by providing pre-converted AI models with associated runtime components and Dell’s proprietary AI framework that manages model execution and interaction with an OpenAI compliant API, allowing organizations to move from prototype to production much faster.

By processing data directly on your PC, on-device AI cuts down on cloud usage and data transfer costs that usually require a monthly fee. On-device AI saves you money while providing privacy, compliance, and scalability.

Memory requirements will vary depending on the AI model used. Please see the respective model card to ensure your device has enough memory to support the model in which the application was built.

The logic will not allow the application to load. Non-compatible devices can access a cloud-based version of the app, however the benefits of cloud/infrastructure cost savings won’t be realized, and, unless a private infrastructure-based cloud is used, both speed and data privacy may be compromised.

In general, language models will consume roughly 1 GB of memory per billion parameters with typical quantization preparation for NPUs. Multiple models may be loaded in parallel on a system up to system memory limits without substantial inference performance impact; concurrent inference execution of loaded models will split available accelerator resources.

On-device inferencing keeps data private and local. IT admins maintain control by deciding app access and ensuring data stays on user devices.
